Feeling Nice and Mellow Today

Not much to say, but I'm enjoying the sun today, sitting back with some nice reading material, drinking some coffee, and leaving the TV on in the background with Saturday afternoon's constant stream of "Seinfeld", "Simpsons", "Family Guy", and "Daily Show".

Really, a perfect lazy Saturday. Nice and mellow.

You know...

...I was just thinking about the Tangent: Superman's Reign comic book (issue 6 on sale now), and I'd probably buy a "Brave and the Bold" style title by Dan Jurgens and Jamal Igle. Don't know if Igle's going to stick with the title once his run on Supergirl starts up or if they've ever worked together before this title, but they're really gelling as a team and I'm really enjoying their takes on Green Lantern and the Flash (John Stewart and Wally West, specifically).

...I tried watching "Gossip Girl" Monday night, but couldn't make it more than ten minutes into the episode. Not that it seemed to be a bad show or anything, and not to say I don't enjoy the prime time teen soap (I watched a lot of the first season of "The O.C."), but I really couldn't get past the fact that the teenagers on the show looked older than I am. Is it really too hard to find actors to play teens that actually look like teens or are *gasp* teenagers themselves?

...Salt and vinegar Pringles aren't that great, especially after having the salt and vinegar Lay's Stax chips. Those are pretty good. The Pringles... not so much.

...The Daily Show and the Colbert Report are in reruns at the moment, which is a kick in the head, but on the bright side they seem to have picked up on this so there's fewer reruns these days than in years past. I'd still prefer they not just rerun the prior weeks episodes during a repeat week though. But I still watch it all the same, so who am I to complain?

Not much to say, really...

My new year started with me sleeping more hours than usual. I went to bed at a decent hour but wasn't able to get out of bed until six pm or so. A few days later I came to realize my over-sleeping was the warning sign I'd caught a cold, only I didn't get this until I was laid out in bed Saturday morning with a 104 degree temperature. Was feeling better Sunday evening and into Monday. Went to see my therapist Tuesday, didn't really feel up to getting out until yesterday though. Went to a few places and out to dinner with a few of the guys. Hoping to get down to Niagara Falls tomorrow.

I can't really think of a whole lot else to comment on. Which is kind of crummy when you're trying to keep people interested in reading your blog. The Daily Show is back on TV though. That's pretty good.

I Beat the System!

".....meh, okay, so I overreacted. It's still not cool, but it's not THAT horribly uncool. Your block has been reduced to twelve hours. DS 04:45, 11 September 2007 (UTC) - DragonflySixtyseven"

Yeah! Take that wikipedia! Shows them what can happen when the little guy with a healthy sense of humor has a forum to get the word out and no one to BLOCK him. Assuming they realized they should reduce the BLOCK by reading this and not independently reaching that conclusion on their own, I suppose.

Yeah! And that goat anecdote showing up right after Jon Stewart and Jeff Garlin mentioned it? Still very funny. Yeah.

What the - - ?

I got blocked on wikipedia! Tonight on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart and guest Jeff Garlin made jokes about the his wikipedia entry, ending with Stewart making a joke about Garlin being nearly killed by mountain goats last year and how it'd end up on his wiki-entry. So I go to Garlin's page and see someone's changed it, and instead go to the discussion page and say how funny it is that it's been changed so quickly.

And then I get BLOCKED. For three days granted, but I'm BLOCKED for three days. For, apparently, encouraging vandalism. Here's the message:

"It is not awesome to vandalize Wikipedia articles just because Jon Stewart said it'd be wacky to do so. Nor is it awesome to tell people that their vandalism is awesome. You are blocked for three days. DS 03:53, 11 September 2007 (UTC) - DragonflySixtyseven"

What'd I do? Come on! Mountain goats nearly killed Jeff Garlin last year? That's very funny.

And, yes, I can still check out the wiki, and, yes, I only go there, like, twice a month or so, but come on! BLOCKED, for chrissakes!

Let's see...

Hi there. Not much to report really. Kerr got his Pee Wee Playhouse playset and unopened figures in the mail, but they haven't moved off the spot on the floor he unpacked them on.

I've been watching "His Girl Friday" on DVD -- the transfer is awful, like fourth generation VHS transferred to a barebones DVD awful, but I didn't buy the film for the quality. Besides, it was only six bucks anyway. I've been watching the Daily Show Indecision 2004 boxed set too. It's pretty good, but feels short. I think I may've watched the whole thing in two days. All I have left is to polish off the Election Night coverage, and I'm kind of dreading that since once that's over I'll have to find something else to watch. The Bewitched season set intrigues me since I hate watching colorized versions of those old episodes. Black and white all the way, and all that. Either that or Alias. Jennifer Garner is pretty.

I also got the "Kim Possible movie". About what you'd expect from a Disney Saturday morning cartoon, but I love the art style and animation, and the writing is often surprisingly clever.

I'll check back soon. Promice.

Promice? Promise. Promise.
