Sorry for the Extended Absence...

Unfortunately I've been grappling with a rather annoying computer virus of late. I seem to have it under control, but my computer was running ridiculously slow and my Internet was shut down because, as it turned out, the virus was sending spam out. Of course, now that it's running fine again (after I explained what had happened to my local cable/Internet provider), I have the problem of not being able to see anything further than a foot away since my glasses broke a week and a half ago while I was cleaning them. I have another pair on it's way, and used the opportunity to get my lens prescription updated since my friends have noted that I tend to squint at the television even when wearing my regular glasses. The bright side of things running fine though is that my back's been giving me problems lately and feels much better when I'm sitting. Apparently one of my lower vertebrates is twisted, which explains why it feels like I'm being poked with pins in my lower back. My chiropractor checked things out and it's been feeling better since I saw him, so hopefully it subsides.

Despite all of these annoying and painful bits going on, other things have been all right. I got down to Niagara Falls last week and won a Marvin the Martian plush toy at a midway. I was thinking of giving it away as a present, but I might hold onto it. Not that I'm into plush dolls or anything, but I like the character and I can brag about having won it to all of my jackass friends (I'm just kidding, they're great).

I got my copy of the Batman Animated Series soundtrack in the mail the other day. I missed the chance to get an autographed copy, but I'm still glad I snagged one before they sold out. The music is great, and the distributor did a great job with the insert booklet, offering all kinds of trivia and commentary by the composers and crew from the show. I was actually surprised by some of the music -- I knew the more familiar cues, but there was a lot of stuff I barely noticed with all of the visuals and sound effects and dialogue that sounds unbelievably fantastic. I'm thrilled they finally put out what hopefully will be the first of many releases, since it deserves this kind of treatment.

I finished my Christmas shopping. Got a few things for my brother and friends, sent some cards and stuff out to my mom, got espresso beans for my dad. I still need to make sure I get something to my grandmother, but even if I don't have the opportunity to get her a more personal card, I still have a few smaller cards from a multi-pack I can give her. But for all intents and purposes, I'm done and I'm glad I didn't wait to the last minute or half-ass it like I have in past years. I think I was actually at the 24 hour Walmart last December 25th at 2:00am. While I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun to go to Walmart in the middle of the night, it's nice knowing I won't have to worry about last minute shopping this year.

That's about all the interesting stuff I've been up to since my last post. Hopefully I'll get back soon to make up for the infrequent posting lately. I'd hate to disappoint my loyal audience, because, yes that's right, I actually have someone following my blog. And just in case this post didn't come across terribly thrilling, here's something to make up for that:

Yay! My computer's working again.

After being out of town for a week, I came back to a computer that crapped out on me an hour or two into getting caught up on a few of my usual online haunts. I finally got it running again yesterday and figured I'd stop by here since I still have that "updated weekly" thing at the top of the page. I should probably change that. Hm.

Anyway, nothing new has really happened lately. Had a good time in Windsor. Have been keeping busy since I got back. I did think of something worth posting the other day. Probably a rant about an advirtising campaign if the last couple of posts are any indication. I do have an idea for another post, something to the effect that people who write "ya" when they mean to say "yeah" are idiots, but I'll save that for another post and a less pleasant mood.

Hey

What's up everybody that doesn't visit my blog. I know what you're not thinking -- a new message? And just a week after the last one? If I were a better blogger I'd be here posting that often, if not more. Then again, I can't even get close friends and family to stop by, so it's just as well I put my efforts into more substantial pursuits. Like this one game, where you have to get rid of these things without letting the kid on top fall into the water. It's real neat. That one of the other benefits of having a blog whose sole source of traffic comes from people who stumble on it by mistake; I can say things like "It's real neat" and not worry about coming off like a five-year-old.

Here's a link to the game: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/371834

Wow. I'm a terrible blogger.

Sorry about that. I really need to update more often. For the benefit of the people who don't visit my blog, naturally.

But if you stumbled upon this by mistake, here's a short film I was in a few years back. I played the hell out of that dead body.

Have a good day.

What I've Been Up To

Not a whole lot. Mostly school and all that. Trying to write more but not having much success on that front. Kerr finally bought an LCD HDTV and a 360 to go with it, meaning he passed along his old, occasionally faulty TV to me. Score! Right. Anyway, the trip to Florida with the guys in August (has it been that long? Geez I'm lazy) was great fun. Went to the parks down there -- Universal and Disney World. Went to the Magic Kingdom and hit all the rides I never did as a child. Pirates of the Caribbean. Splash Mountain. Haunted Mansion. The Country Bear Jamboree. I caught a really bad cold in Sarasota though which carried through to Hamilton for a week or two. Might've been Red Tide, which, it turns out, is airborne and not released through contact with the Gulf, as I'd suspected. Aside from that things have been same old. Been meaning to update my blog for the one or two folks who might stumble upon it but kept putting it off. I'll try to check in sooner next time. Bye.

That's right...

I have a blog. How about that, huh?

Not much to say. Went to BC, saw the new dog, survived the sweltering heat. I'm going to Florida this Friday. Driving down, which I love doing. Enjoying Manhunter, Cable & Deadpool, She-Hulk, the Batman and Superman titles, Beyond, and a few other comic titles. Missing Spider-Girl, but unlike some of my other favorites that bit the dust this past year -- Arrested Development, Alias, JLU -- it's coming back in the fall.

I'll check back sooner than later, hopefully with more substantial things to say.

Oh Yeah...

I have a blog. How about that.

Uh... I had a birthday. Watched the series finale of JLU. Been keeping up with South Park, Veronica Mars, Two and a Half Men, and Everybody Hates Chris. Got Justice League season one and In Dream of Jeannie on DVD. Schools wrapping up. Made some money. Suddenly started recalling the entire score to Sweeney Todd (not a bad thing). A friend got a 42" Plasma screen TV, and I have a feeling my brother will too. Been going to Boston Pizza at least once a week -- like the pasta and salad deals. Haven't been up to too much else. Will try to check in soon, as long as I remember I have a blog.

Jeepers. It's been more than a month. So, what have I been up to....

Well, I've been doing school stuff. I'm in a few classes that are pretty out there so I'm a little over my head with work. Scrubs is back on the air and it's still pretty good. I heard a rumor it's going to ABC or something, but that wasn't totally clear. JLU is coming back on the air soon. It's been airing in the UK and it's all I can do not to download it. Christmas was good. I got some nice stuff. Got the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume Three. It's the first set that's not totally marketed towards children so they put some of the politically incorrect wartime shorts on it. Kerr got an XBOX. He's been working a lot at the Airport Inn (conveniently located twenty minutes from the Hamilton airport), and he's been raking in the cash. Still hasn't paid back the money he owes me though.

I need to start working out soon. My pseudo-New Years Resolution was to drop twenty pounds by March. It's not a real N.Y.R -- since I think those are stupid -- but I need to get on that sooner than later. Johnny moved out to Edmonton to live with Nick. John got a job at Michael's the first day he was there. I told him not to start working there since he did that here and hated it, but less than two weeks later he applied at EB Games and he's there now. He's been out there for three weeks -- it's weird, it still hasn't totally sunk in yet. There's a lot of jobs in Edmonton though. More jobs than people. He got a bus transfer the first couple of days out there and it said "Driver's Wanted". Said there's a lot of pretty girls out there too. Might have to visit him one of these days.

That's about all I can think of for now. I'll check back soon.

Terribly Sorry

Hi there.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I haven't been up to much lately. Lost a little weight I suppose. Been doing some reading and a lot of time-consuming school work. Veronica Mars is gaining steam -- it's leading up to a great season. Alias and Arrested Development have been cancelled, unfortunately. Alias I can see; it's been in trouble for a while now and brining in new characters in familiar roles is a sign of desperation. DC's Infinite Crisis comics are great fun. I'm still reading some Marvel titles, but haven't been enjoying them that much lately.

Went to New York with Kerr and Johnny. We had a great time -- I saw Letterman with Kerr and was surprised by the fact that the show we saw was taped a week early. I wonder if that's how they always do the show. Johnny and I met Dr. Ruth and saw the Seinfeld diner. We did some walking and shopping around Times Square and had authentic New York pizza. All in all, we didn't do a whole lot in the four days we were there, but I had a great time nonetheless.

Eugene Levy is coming over to spend some time with my dad -- they're both old buddies from way back. A lot of other folks are coming over though so I don't think I'll be able to sell him on my fabulous screenplay ideas (he said self-mockingly but with a hint of seriousness).

I'll try to update more often, or at least when something fun and exciting happens.

Hi there.

It's been a while since the last post, and not much has happened to me in the meantime. I've been doing school work, a little bit of writing... the new season of JLU has started and while I enjoyed the premiere episode, the second episode of the hour-long block left me a little cold. Still waiting to find last night's episodes somewhere.

In other news, JLU story editor, producer, writer Dwayne McDuffie is doing a Fantastic Four book, which should be pretty good. He's a really cool guy, and a heck of a writer.

So... not much to report on. I'm hoping to find the JLU DVD, but haven't had much luck so far. I should get it soon though, since there's a lot of DVDs coming out this fall and I only have so much disposable income.

Let's see...

Hi there. Not much to report really. Kerr got his Pee Wee Playhouse playset and unopened figures in the mail, but they haven't moved off the spot on the floor he unpacked them on.

I've been watching "His Girl Friday" on DVD -- the transfer is awful, like fourth generation VHS transferred to a barebones DVD awful, but I didn't buy the film for the quality. Besides, it was only six bucks anyway. I've been watching the Daily Show Indecision 2004 boxed set too. It's pretty good, but feels short. I think I may've watched the whole thing in two days. All I have left is to polish off the Election Night coverage, and I'm kind of dreading that since once that's over I'll have to find something else to watch. The Bewitched season set intrigues me since I hate watching colorized versions of those old episodes. Black and white all the way, and all that. Either that or Alias. Jennifer Garner is pretty.

I also got the "Kim Possible movie". About what you'd expect from a Disney Saturday morning cartoon, but I love the art style and animation, and the writing is often surprisingly clever.

I'll check back soon. Promice.

Promice? Promise. Promise.
